"I Have Achieved Everything I Wanted, So I No Longer Spend My Time In My Church" — Rev. Obofour
Rev. Obofour, a well-known Ghanaian religious leader renowned for his controversial statements, has once again ignited a heated debate across social media platforms. In a recent self-recorded video, which has rapidly spread online, the divisive figure announced that he has achieved all his personal goals and consequently sees no need to devote as much time to his church.
In the video, Rev. Obofour boldly claimed that no Ghanaian religious leader is genuine, accusing them of using prophecies for self-serving purposes. He advised his followers to remain silent and humble during prosperous times, emphasizing the unpredictability of fortune. "It's important to be grateful for God's help during difficult times and not boast about one's successes," he stated. "Be cautious and humble, as circumstances can change suddenly."
The video, unsettling in its directness, also saw Rev. Obofour asking for the screen to be recorded for future reference, hinting at more revelations to come. "Please record the screen for me, or else I will leave. Quickly record the screen for me for future reference. I will share something even more significant than what I have already said," he asserted.
This statement has left many in Ghana puzzled, with some questioning the sincerity of his past religious endeavors. During a live interview with Kansemnewsgh, Rev. Obofour revealed that his substantial wealth and numerous properties have led him to reduce his church activities. He reminisced about the challenges of traveling abroad due to his church commitments but now claims that having achieved his goals, he no longer prioritizes church involvement.
Rev. Obofour noted that he now frequently travels overseas, a luxury he previously couldn’t afford due to his church obligations. He candidly stated that he has been blessed financially by God, and according to him, his congregation is well aware of his reduced presence. "My church members would confirm that I no longer spend much time at church," he said.
His statements have stirred mixed reactions among Ghanaians, with some praising his honesty while others criticize him for abandoning his spiritual duties. The controversy surrounding his remarks continues to grow, with many wondering what future revelations he might have in store. Regardless of public opinion, Rev. Obofour's latest pronouncements have undeniably set the stage for further debate about the authenticity and motives of religious leaders in Ghana.
