More Photos: A Gorgeous Ghanaian Policewoman Shot Dead In Bawku (+VIDEO)
During the weekend, a shooting incident happened in the conflict-prone zone of the Upper East Region, with four people killed, including a Burkinabe woman, according to sources.
Constable Regina Angenu, a policewoman, was also killed by unknown assailants, according to the Ghana Police Service.
According to a statement from the security agency, the dead officer paid a visit to Constable Erasmus Enkson of the Ghana Police Service's Motor Traffic and Transport Unit (MTTU) at the Bawku Division on Saturday, January 22 about 5:05pm.
They were ambushed by unknown intruders on their way to Const. Enkson's barracks and the policewoman was shot in the crotch.
Constable Regina Angenu was brought to the Presbyterian Mission Hospital for treatment, but she did not survive.
The deceased's remains were taken to the Bolgatanga Regional Hospital to be preserved and autopsied. Following the shooting incident over the weekend, the Upper East Regional Security Council (REGSEC) has imposed a restriction on vehicle riding in Bawku and its close vicinity. Security has also been increased to ensure that residents are safe.
